I wanted to use the Embroidered Creased Abstract fabric I had bought at Joann’s last month for the Mini Wardrobe contest but when I purchased it at Joann’s they only had 1 1/4 yards left. I bought all of it but wasn’t sure what I could make. Most tops require 2 yards, for my size.

Then I found Vogue 8877 which only required 1 1/4 yard for the main part of the shirt. I then went to Joann’s and looked at my options. I looked at lace first but didn’t find anything I like. Then I looked at the sheers and found Floral Vine Blue & Gray Chiffon which looked to have almost the same pattern as the fabric I was trying to use with it. So I bought that and it looks perfect!

I made the a XL but cut the yoke as a L with XL for end of sleeves. I did this because my I am narrow through the shoulders but not the waist or hips. I think it fits very nicely.

I didn’t like the bias tape facing. I ended up seam ripping it out since it would not lie flat. I ended up doing a narrow hem. I also took away some of the front neckline since I didn’t like how high it was when I tried it on with the first neckline. I wish I had lowered it more, it is higher than I comfortably prefer.
